May Care Task #3: Email unsubscribing session

2

Hi there,

This week's business care task is to swing over to your business inbox. Spend 10 minutes unsubscribing from any mailing lists that aren't serving you. I like to thing of this as an unsubscribing frenzy.

Delete, delete, delete.

Clear the clutter. Free up space.

If you run out of things to unsubscribe from in your business email (yay, you!), you can spend the rest of the time in your personal inbox doing the same.

Remember, unsubscribing from an email list doesn't mean that you can never buy/interact with the person or business again. They'll still be available on the web if and when you need them.

Only stay subscribed to a list if it's regularly and consistently bringing value. Otherwise, let it go for now.

Warmly,

Camille

💌 May Care Task #3: Spend 10 minutes unsubscribing

  1. Log into your business inbox.

  2. Set a timer for 10 minutes.

  3. Start going through any messages from mailing lists. Unsubscribe from any that aren't serving you at this time.

  4. If you're receiving newsletters relating to your personal life in your work email, see if you can update your email address to direct these to your personal email rather than your work email.

Yay! You did it. Leave a comment letting me know how the unsubscribing process went. Also, if you're a paid subscriber, don't forget that you have access to my weekly planning video, which I highly recommend working through at the beginning of each week.

🌟 Extra Suggestions 🌟

  • If you haven't yet separated your personal email from your business email, do that instead this week! It truly does wonders for your mental health. I use Protonmail for my business email and hey.com for personal email just to keep things extra compartmentalized.

  • If there are messages you'd like to continue receiving, but you don't want them cluttering up your inbox, consider setting up filters to send these types of messages into a folder or label. You can then peruse them at specific times rather than dealing with each one as it arrives in your inbox. Here are instructions for setting up filters in Gmail.

  • Here's a short post about how I use filters/folders in my business inbox.

✔️ Other Reminders

  • Paid subscribers have access to my weekly planning video. If you haven’t yet, take about 15 min to reflect on last week and get yourself set up for the week ahead.

  • Co-working is back for paid subscribers. We meet every Wednesday through early August from 2-3 pm ET. This is the perfect time to work on your weekly business care task, to catch up on client notes, do your bookkeeping, etc. Click through to RSVP and get a calendar invite!

  • If you missed last month's workshop on reviewing your recurring business expenses, paid subscribers can view the recording + download the worksheet here. I saved more than $500 this round 🎉

I'm Camille Freeman. I've been in practice as a nutritionist and herbalist since 2004, with a focus on fertility & menstrual health. Now, I mostly focus on helping other practitioners. I wrote a book about using newsletters to build your 1:1 practice. I also homeschool two kiddos and spend a ton of time reading. I have another newsletter for practitioners that goes out every Thursday. I think you're great.
